Q: What is the time commitment? A: Board members commit to serving an average of 5-10 hours per month. That said, we understand that life happens and some months may be more, some may be less. Board members are expected to attend board meetings, a strategic planning day, the annual gala, and are encouraged to attend other seasonal events.
Q: When are the board meetings? A: Board meetings are typically the second Tuesday of each month from 7 - 9pm.
Q: Will I know the calendar for the year in advance? A: Yes! We send out the full calendar for the year in January, at the latest.
Q: What is the financial commitment? A: Board members join our Angel Alliance monthly donor program at an amount that feels meaningful to you, and assist in fundraising through personal contributions and/or securing donations from other individuals or companies.
Q: Do I need to have prior board experience? A: No! The most important thing is that you are passionate about our mission and committed to serving.
Q: Is any training, onboarding, or professional development provided? A: Yes! We provide an orientation in January, onboarding, and training opportunities throughout the year. Examples of trainings include fundraising and what it means to serve on the board. We also provide a membership to the Georgia Center for Nonprofits. Q: Do I need to have professional fundraising experience? A: No! You just need to be passionate about our mission, willing to share, and we will teach you the rest.
