Likes: quality time with friends and family, authentic community, hosting, playing board games, traveling Dislikes: driving, uncertainty, small talk Casey grew up in a small town in Minnesota. The kind of small town where getting a second stoplight on Main Street was a really big deal. She now lives with her husband in midtown Atlanta, GA. Casey has a Master’s in International Community Development and is working on a PhD in Intercultural Studies. The focus of her studies has been on nonprofit management, specifically how to ensure great services are provided in cross-cultural environments. She is currently an independent contractor supporting marketing and fundraising for nonprofits. Casey first heard about Atlanta Angels through a connection with Christie, the president of the board. She was initially interested because of her background in nonprofit work and a desire to get more involved in the Atlanta community. After learning more about Atlanta Angels, Casey feels strongly connected to its mission and model. Foster care is a part of a larger system that needs support. The statistics for children who grow up in foster care are alarming, and this is something we can change through building relationships and investing in youth. The impact we can have at Atlanta Angels can change children’s lives and create long-term transformation in our society! |
