FAMILIES AND YOUTH ON
THE WAITLIST

ABOUT THE WAITLIST

We currently have several amazing families waiting to be matched in our Love Box program and youth waiting to be matched in Dare to Dream. Our heart at Atlanta Angels is to serve every family that makes the decision to foster and wrap relational support around every child and youth in foster care. Check out just a few of our awesome families and youth below and reach out with any questions about how you can get involved!

MEET THE FAMILIES:

If you're interested in walking alongside one of these amazing families please click here for more information!
Family #1 - Located in Dallas
This family has been fostering for 3 years and is currently fostering a sibling set of 3 girls (6, 5 and 4 y/o). They also have three biological children, two of whom still live with them. Their 18 y/o daughter is going to college in the Fall and had helped a lot with childcare, so they would love support with babysitting. They requested any and all types of support!

Family #2 - Located in East Atlanta
This incredible foster dad is currently fostering two boys (9 and 10 y/o), both of whom have been able to stay with him longer than any of their previous placements. He works hard to meet both of their diverse needs, including becoming the coach for both of their football and baseball teams. It’s hard to be a single foster parent, so he would love relational support, especially with venting, as well as someone to help out if the youngest is having a hard day at school and needs to go home early.

Family #3 - Located in Dallas
This kinship home has been together for several months, and the kinship parent has done an incredible job of integrating her nephew, who is 17 y/o, into the home. She works full-time as a nurse and requested all types of support, with an emphasis on financial help and support with meals.

Family #4 - Located in Mableton
This single mom has three kids in her home: 17 y/o son, 13 y/o daughter, and a 9 month little boy. She has been fostering for 16 years! They love playing card and board games as a family. The oldest plays football and likes red, her daughter plays softball and likes blue, and the little one loves all balls and rolling toys.

Family #5 - Located in Powder Springs
This family is made up of first-time parents! They got their first placement 8 months ago: 2 y/o boy and 9 y/o girl. The 9 y/o loves reading, STEM, and journaling. The 2 y/o loves being active and playing with sensory toys like magna tiles!

Family #6 - Located in Cartersville
This family is a kinship placement with three kids in their home: a 5 y/o girl, 2 y/o girl, and an (almost) 2 y/o boy. The 5 y/o loves softball and sports. The 2 y/o loves playing outside and art activities. The 2 y/o boy also loves spending time outside and animals!

Family #7 - Located in Acworth
This home has two adoptive children from care, and one 1 1/2 y/o boy in care in the home. They have been fostering for five years. They aren’t from Georgia and have no family here, so their biggest need is community and emotional support. They are looking for someone that wants to spend time with their kids, connect with them, and be there as friends for the caregivers.

Family #8 - Located in Austell
This home has five kiddos (3 y/o, 6 y/o, 10 y/o, 11 y/o, and a 17 y/o girl in care). They are big on giving back to the community and volunteering, but they could use some support themselves! The foster parents have done a great job with the child in care in their home. She graduated high school and has a job! They could use support with basic necessities, emotional support for caregivers, and childcare for the younger kids.

Family #9: Located in Cartersville
These caregivers have opened their home to so many kiddos, and currently they have 8 children (two 18 y/o's, three 15 y/o's, 7 y/o, and two 5 y/o's). Both caregivers work full-time, and the foster mom is in school as well! Not only do they have 8 kids.

MEET THE Youth:

If you're interested in mentoring one of these amazing youth please click here for more information!

Youth #1 - Located in East Atlanta

This youth is 9 y/o and loves sports. He would love a mentor who he could play sports and games with. He is very competitive, and his foster dad is his baseball and football coach! He would benefit from a mentor who is willing to be firm with him but also understanding of his episodic mood shifts. He is working hard to lean on coping skills for emotional regulation!

Youth #2 - Located in Dallas
We recently began working with a 17 y/o youth who loves to play sports and hang out with his friends. He would love to be matched with someone “cool and relatable” who can help be a positive influence in his life. His goal is to one day be in the NFL!

Youth #3 - Located in McDonough
This youth is 17 y/o and has been making great progress in school recently. He would love a mentor to help him continue on the positive path he is on and be like a big brother to him. He specifically would like some help with applying for jobs and colleges. He hopes to graduate next year!

Youth #4 - Located in Riverdale
This youth is 15 y/o and would love a male mentor who will be understanding of his past. This youth is open-minded about his potential mentor but would like him to be someone who has also “gone through some things,” specifically those with experiences with juvenile and criminal justice.

Youth #5 - Located in Midtown
This 11 y/o boy loves gaming and has a goal of becoming a YouTuber and getting better at swimming! He considers himself really good at Roblox. He would love a mentor who would be willing to play games with him and support him in his goals.

Youth #6: Located in West Atlanta

This youth is 17 y/o and is already a freshman at GSU! He would love a mentor who works in his field of interest, which is the medical field with an emphasis on emergency room care. He is working to get his own housing through an Independent Living Program and would like someone to help him meet his goals.

Take the next step.
