Likes: Rainy days, twinkle lights, dancing, long mountain hikes, a good playlist, and game nights that leave you laughing until you cry.
Dislikes: Grief, injustice, bad drivers, and when a television show you love abruptly ends.
Laura graduated with a bachelor's degree in Christian Studies and Psychology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. After graduating, she moved to the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She served youth and their families for 10 years as a YoungLife leader and has worked with children in foster care both domestically and internationally. Her love of storytelling, visual and written, and dedication to children and families in care has provided her with the heart to fill our role as Director of Social Media + Marketing. Laura is a founding board member of Atlanta Angels. She is devoted to improving the lives of the children served by Atlanta Angels.
Laura spends her days off hiking with her rescue dog, Leo, and exploring the city for the best coffeehouse. She is passionate about community and building relationships. She credits her heart for helping those in foster care to her parents, Leisa and Calvin, who took in youth throughout her childhood and adopted her youngest sibling. As Saint Francis de Sales wisely said, “There is nothing small in the service of God.”
