Love Box Program Impact
Kara decided to become involved with the Love Box program because she wanted to be a part of the journey for children and youth experiencing foster care but did not think that being a foster parent was something she could do. Kara was matched with a family that provides care for medically fragile children. Their family has had 38 placements within the last four years and has also adopted five medically fragile children. According to this Love Box family, their group has been the most consistent support they have had during their foster care journey. The family feels their lives have been changed in more ways than just through foster care and say their group has provided more support than their friends or family members would have ever been able to give. |

Dare to Dream Program Impact
Through our Dare to Dream program, this mentor/mentee relationship started two years ago when the mentor was 21 years old and his mentee was 15, and continues to this day. Collectively they have spent over 150 hours together doing various activities ranging from movie nights, rock climbing, mini-golf, paddle boarding or simply hanging out playing video games. They’ve also spent time sharing core moments like attending the mentee’s very first concert to see his favorite artist, being present at an awards ceremony when the mentee received an award, and watching and cheering him on at his sporting events. They’ve also shared significant life experiences like preparing for college, talking about life challenges and how to build and maintain healthy relationships. |
