FAMILIES ON THE WAITLIST

GWINNETT COUNTY
Families on the Waitlist: 6

If you're interested in walking alongside one of these amazing families, please click to express your interest!
Grayson

Family #70: 8 kids
This single foster mom has an 8 y/o girl who is newly in care. This is her first placement and she is having an emotionally difficult time with the severe nature of her kiddo’s trauma history. Since being in her home, the kiddo is thriving academically, socially, and loves new experiences. Foster mom is new to GA and does not have a lot of support in her community. She is still connected to her home church via online where she finds some support. A volunteer who can support the caregiver emotionally, has a child around the same age interested in playdates, and has capacity to help with childcare every other Sunday while the foster mom works would be invaluable!

Family #75: 8 kids
This couple is fully committed to loving and integrating children that come through their home into their lives forever! Right now they have 8 children in their home (including their bio kids) and are really in need of a LB volunteer that is able to commit to visiting them more than once a month. The Browns are experienced caregivers, and recent issues - van troubles, back to school planning, usual parental things but x8! - are putting them under a lot of stress.
This family would greatly benefit from a LB volunteer willing to help with babysitting, bonding with the kids, and providing 1x1 attention to kids as needed.

Lawrenceville

Family #43: 4 kids
This caregiver has been happily married for 16 yrs and has 3 biological children- ages 11, 10, and 8. The family as a whole fell in love with fostering and has now opened their door as an adoptive placement for a 6 y/o boy! Because they are a big family, activities, meals, and babysitting can get very costly. Someone who can bring in fresh new engaging activities/community events and support in babysitting would be amazing– especially for date nights!

Family #79: 4 kids
Foster mom is an experienced caregiver that has been fostering with her husband since 2007. They currently have a sibling set of 4 in their home, and are not strangers to potentially harmful behaviors, and loving the children all the way through.
The kids have been with them for over 2 years now, but they would benefit from a LB volunteer, or two leaders, willing to spend one-on-one time with the children, provide meal drop-offs, and as trust is built, to babysit for them to get out of the house for once!

Family 76: 2 kids
This family has a special knack for working with youth long-term, and they strive to format their home to best meet the needs of every youth who enters. They currently have a sibling set of two teenage girls. They would benefit from a lowkey Love Box volunteer who would be open to intermittently sharing meals with them and bringing over care packages.

Family 80: 1 kid
These two caregivers have an 8 y/o girl in the home who LOVES being the center of attention! As a family, they enjoy going to Dave and Busters, doing art projects to hang on the wall, and being outside. The caregivers are new to fostering, and a volunteer who has fostering experience could be a very good fit for this family. Someone who is able to suggest various behavior remediation methods, be a non-judgmental listening ear for emotional support, and is great with elementary-middle school-aged kiddos would be great!
