Lori JoslynLikes: Visiting farms, art and science projects with kids, oddities, cats
Dislikes: Closed minds, hot weather, loud stuff Enneagram: 9 Lori and her husband became foster parents in 2020. They've seen first-hand how difficult the world of fostering can be. Lori wants to support other foster parents as they experience unique journeys of their own, hoping to provide a voice for some of the many ways that foster care happens in families. Atlanta Angels was there for Lori's family during a roller-coaster of a first placement (and beyond), through Covid restrictions and quarantines, helping make birthday parties happen, and keeping holidays happy. Lori knows how important community is for struggling families of all sorts and tries to be a source of love for foster children as much as neighbor kids on their street. Lori studied visual arts at New College of Florida and, later, studied graphic design at The Creative Circus in Atlanta. She was a social worker with delinquent and mentally ill teenagers in residential care in Tennessee before coming to Atlanta to work as a preschool teacher in a specialized facility, eventually landing in a marketing agency as the primary designer for many non-profit organizations. As a freelance graphic designer and copywriter, Lori is grateful for the flexibility to give time to work, fostering, and the foster parent council for Atlanta Angels. Lori is driven to help define and provide meaningful support for all kinds of families in the foster care community and beyond, one story at a time.
