Kelly is a first-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student at Kennesaw State University (KSU), with a deep passion for understanding and helping people. Kelly pursued a Bachelor's of Science in psychology in her undergraduate years at KSU with an interest in the complexities of human behavior and interactions. However, after taking sociology and human services courses as her course electives and reflecting to herself on what she's learned, she realized that her interest in people was out of love, more than interest. Her true calling was in directly working with individuals and communities to transform their lives through building relationships with them and supporting them.
Kelly has a firm belief that most conflict stems from miscommunication and that most actions and intentions are never rooted in malice. She approaches social work with the understanding that one's intentions, empathy, and communication are key to resolving misunderstandings and building trust. Her goal is to help the people she will be working with to be heard and supported, during and when she earns her LCSW, recognizing that everyone’s experience is unique.
When she is not working on tasks or studying for her classes, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. Often, cooking meals together with her friends and ending the night with games on the weekends and a vinyl from one of her favorite artists - and she’ll be singing along. She is also a homebody at heart and loves to have a cozy night where she can unwind in her bed and enjoy her own space and peace.
